MAGLEV

Substance Intelligence
starts with separation.

MagLev physically separates components within complex powdered mixtures before analysis—simplifying the sample and creating a clearer starting point for understanding what’s really there.

THE FOUNDATION

Before you can understand a complex mixture, you have to separate it.

Complex samples can contain multiple substances at very different concentrations. MagLev uses magnetic levitation to physically separate those components based on density, creating distinct fractions that can be examined or analyzed using existing analytical methods.

THE PROBLEM

Why separation matters.

Complex mixtures can make individual substances difficult to analyze. MagLev physically separates components based on density, simplifying the sample so existing analytical tools can more clearly examine what’s there.

HOW IT WORKS

Simple physics. Powerful separation.

MagLev uses magnetic levitation to separate particles based on density. When a powdered sample is introduced into the separation fluid and placed within the magnetic field, different components move to distinct equilibrium positions—creating separated fractions that can be examined or extracted for further analysis.

1
ADD THE SAMPLE
Introduce a small amount of powdered material into the MagLev separation container.
2
LET IT SEPARATE
Components move to different positions based on their physical properties, forming distinct fractions.
3
EXAMINE OR EXTRACT
Separated material can be examined in place or a fraction can be extracted for further analysis using existing tools.
